Lafarge Strengthens Community Relations with Community Day Celebration

 

The plant manager of Lafarge Africa Plc’s 5mmt cement plant in Mfamosing, Cross River state Peter Robson says the building solutions and infrastructure company will continue to support and empower host communities in order to improve the quality of their lives and stimulate sustainable development.

Mr Robson was speaking during the launch of the Mfamosing Community day celebrations by Lafarge Africa Plc. The initiative is part of efforts to strengthen relationship between Lafarge, host communities and the Cross River state government.   

“The essence of this Initiative is to further demonstrate our commitment to supporting community development in line with the 2030 development ambition, one of which focuses on people and communities” said Peter Robson.

Activities planned to mark the Community Day celebrations include Football tournament, commissioning of completed Community Development projects and Quiz Competition among school children.

Lafarge Africa Plc’s Mfamosing plant has 10 partnering communities cutting across Akamkpa, Akpabuyo and Calabar Municipality of Cross River State.  The company has enjoyed a harmonious working relationship with the communities and is committed to the social and economic development of the various communities.
