Lafarge Africa PLC Conducts Health and Safety Awareness for CCECC workers

Lafarge Africa Plc, Nigeria’s leading building solutions provider has conducted a safety Awareness program for over a 100 employees of a leading construction company in Nigeria the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

The training is aimed at improving the safety standards and practices in one of the largest construction companies in Nigeria. Engineers and nurses of CCECC from across its project sites in Nigeria also attended the training.

Speaking about the training initiative, Graeme Bride, Director for Health & Safety at Lafarge Africa Plc said: “Lafarge is delighted to leverage its global experience in Health and Safety for positive impact on the construction industry in Nigeria. CCECC will continue to promote the adoption of safety standards by its employees and its subcontractors.”During the training programme, engineers, technicians and other operational employees were trained on the risks related to their construction work while health workers and nurses were trained on how to prepare for and respond to emergencies.

There were also sessions on the best onsite safety practices such as deployment of safety signages as well as procedures for reporting and responding to incidents.
