Industrial Director, Cement- Lafarge Africa Plc

Segun Shoyoye is the Industrial Director, Cement of Lafarge Africa. He is  a Performance-driven Cement Industry expert offering 24 years of proven manufacturing.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry from Ogun State University and graduated with a Second Class Upper degree.

He joined the organisation as a Technical Trainee in 1995. Following this, he became Environmental Management System Controller in Ewekoro and Sagamu plants and over the years gained proficiency in process and quality. In 2011 he became the Production Manager of Ewekoro Plant and also worked in the following capacities: Operations Manager, Plant Manager, and was eventually appointed as Industrial Director in 2018.

During the course of his career, he has gone on short term expatriation assignments in Egypt and the United States at Blue Circle, Cement Alexandria Egypt and at Sugar Creek  Plant, Lafarge North America.

Some of his achievements include:

–Sustenance of kiln and cement mill RF at > 95% for 4 years. MTBF on kiln in 2015 >600hrs – Ewekoro line 1. 2014 – 2018

–Over 1m tons of cement production and dispatch in Ewekoro 1 for 5 years consecutively. 2012 – 2017
–Highest clinker production in Ewekoro 1 since inception in 2015 at 890KT
–Reduction in cement production cost by > 30% from 2010
–AF Project in Ewekoro in 2016 and reached 40% after one month.
–Co-ordinated the certification Process of WAPCO PLC Sagamu Plant to NIS ISO I4001: 1996 - Environmental Management System in May 2001
–Team Lead for Biomass Project - Sagamu Plant of WAPCO – First in Nigeria with minimum cost of implementation – 2011
