Lolu Alade-Akinyemi is the Chief Financial Officer of Lafarge Africa Plc. He was appointed as the Supply Chain Director in 2018 before assuming the additional responsibility of Chief Financial Officer in November, 2019.
He is a certified accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Essex, Colchester.
Before joining Lafarge Africa, Lolu’s illustrious career resulted in him serving in various strategic capacities at Coca-Cola Europe, including serving as Finance Manager (Group Office), Europe, Eurasio & Middle East Group, London and lastly as Finance Manager (Africa Group) Africa – Windsor, UK. Sequel to this, he joined Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Accra, Ghana, where he attained the position of Head of Supply Chain & Operations overseeing the overall control of operations, planning, logistics, distribution, fleet maintenance, procurement, warehousing, export/import operations as well as other critical responsibilities which resulted in him achieving substantial cost savings for the organization.
After his time with Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Lolu served as the Finance Director, PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, where he guided the Commercial & Supply Chain teams in determining appropriate strategies and actions across the value chain.
Lolu Alade-Akinyemi joined Lafarge Africa Plc in 2014 as the Chief Financial Officer for Lafarge WAPCO and was appointed Procurement Director in 2016. During his time as Procurement Director, he has Managed 3rd Party costs of over $550m in multiple categories and driven significant commercial value across the organization. He has also implemented an optimized procurement strategy which has resulted in process efficiency & service delivery improvements.
