Ibrahim Aminu was born in 1968 in Malumfashi, Nigeria. He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he graduated with a B.Sc. Accounting in 1990. He also obtained his MBA from Usmanu Danfodiyo University in 2015. Ibrahim worked in various sectors of the economy within Nigeria, including the Federal Civil Service Commission, the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company Limited and the then Nigerian Telecommunications Limited. He also worked in the then Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc, Sokoto - (BUA Group), where he served as Executive Director Finance and later became the Managing Director/CEO in 2016. His tenure as MD/CEO saw an unprecedented growth in revenues and profits by 2017. The company also recorded the highest share price under his leadership as MD/CEO. Ibrahim received the award “BusinessDay Top 25 CEOs on the Nigerian Stock Exchange” in April 2018. He joined the Holcim Group on 1st July, 2019 as Managing Director, Ashaka Cement Limited – a subsidiary of Lafarge Africa Plc. Ashaka recorded a five-year high production and sales in 2020. Ibrahim is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); Member, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). He attended courses at Harvard Business School and IMD, Switzerland, among others. Ibrahim is married with children.
