That's why our Female Tilers and Block Making Training Program isn't just about acquiring skills; it's about breaking ground on a more equitable future and empowering women to become vital contributors to the construction industry and beyond.
40 women have been empowered to become trailblazers in the construction industry.
For four transformative weeks, we witnessed the incredible journey of 40 women from low-income communities in Lagos, as they immersed themselves in the practicalities of tiling and block making, utilizing our very own Supafix and Supaset products. This initiative directly confronts the long-standing gender imbalance within the construction sector, recognizing the immense potential and unique perspectives that women bring to the table.
This program embodies our deep-seated commitment to corporate social responsibility, going beyond traditional business practices to actively shape a more inclusive landscape. By equipping women from underserved communities with tangible, in-demand skills, we are not just building structures; we are building pathways to economic independence and fostering a sense of ownership within their communities.
The impact resonates far beyond the individual participants. As Lafarge Africa’s CEO, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi stated, this program serves as "a gateway to a world of opportunities," fostering gender inclusivity and ultimately strengthening the fabric of our society.
